A couple (Alex Descas, Joy Olasunmibo Ogunmakin) living in Haiti are forced to make an impossible choice just days after the powerful earthquake in 2010 when foreign surveyors tell them they must completely fix their villa in a few weeks or it will be torn down. They rent out the only livable part of their villa to a relief worker as a way to pay for repairs. Through their struggle to keep their villa and their extreme fall from privilege to poverty they begin to see the problems and the contradictions throughout Haitian society.
