Paranormal investigator Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye) comes out of retirement when she receives a disturbing phone call from a man who claims that his house is haunted. She teams up with Specs (Leigh Whannell) and Tucker (Angus Sampson) to return to her hometown in New Mexico. She discovers that the haunted house is the same one that she grew up in as a child. There, they confront the presence that’s been tirelessly haunting her since she accidentally set it free years ago.
