When Amy Fleming’s (Amber Marshall) mother dies, her sister Lou (Michelle Morgan) returns to Heartland to help Amy and their grandfather, Jack Bartlett (Shaun Johnston) run the farm. Soon, Amy and Lou’s estranged father Tim (Chris Potter) shows up on the scene and becomes a part of their lives as well. Their ranch hand Ty Borden (Graham Wardle) soon becomes like a member of the family and eventually, he and Amy get married. Lou marries Peter Morris (Gabriel Hogan) and they adopt a little girl named Georgie (Alisha Newton), who goes on to become a big help for Amy in her business of training troubled horses.
