Eliza, a gifted high school student, is about to take the baccalaureate exams in order to win a scholarship to a prestigious English university. Her father Romeo, is a doctor in their small Transylvanian town. He dreams of a life outside Romania for his daughter. However, just before the first exam, Eliza is assaulted by a mysterious stranger, while leaves her with a broken wrist. To secure Eliza’s future in spite of this setback, Romeo makes an unethical deal with a politician.
