William (Gethin Anthony), a selfish, immature man, decides to visit Copenhagen on a journey to find his paternal grandfather. After his friend ditches him, William comes across young Effy (Frederikke Dahl Hansen), who helps him discover his father’s footsteps and learn the truth about his grandfather. As William begins to grow closer to Effy, he learns that she is only 14 years old.
